Disaster relief: where to donate

Updated 26 December 2006

Organisations accepting donations for disaster relief
The organisations listed below have been collecting money to help the victims of major natural disasters. This page was started after the 26 December 2004 South-East Asian earthquake and tsunami. It is being kept open to encourage donations to help those affected by disasters in all parts of the world. Organisations range from international bodies like the United Nations to innovative small groups such as Teardrop Relief, our latest addition. We also highlight local groups like Sarvodaya and AFLAC International. Each link opens a new page.

Latest situation
To see what the needs are in all affected countries and the current level of aid collected and disbursed, see the United Nations Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) ReliefWeb, which monitors the world's major disasters in great detail.
