The Chinability site is a non-profit site. There is currently no charge for using any part of the site. At the same time, significant financial costs are incurred in paying for hosting on a high-quality server and regular updating involves substantial time and effort.

Following a recent sharp rise in the number of users accessing the site on a regular basis, major upgrades to the site are being planned which will render the site of even greater use to both academic and business users. Implementing these will increase both development and running costs by several orders of magnitude.

We would prefer to retain mainly free access to the site in order to benefit the widest possible range of users, and are therefore reluctant to charge for entry. Keeping the site free will require alternative sources of revenue, including sponsorship.

Businesses and academic institutions (and high net worth individuals) are therefore invited to offer sponsorship to ensure the continuation and development of the Chinability web site.

Such sponsorship may be for the whole site or individual pages. Sponsorship may be in any size or form, including regular or one-off financial contributions, provision of content, or other material support. All sponsorship will be prominently acknowledged on the site in a form to be agreed on an individual basis.

Chinability remains an independent site and its style and content will not be altered or determined by the acceptance of sponsorship. Sponsors are, however, free to suggest the addition of new areas of coverage made possible by their support.
